In trying to set up a dual side by side system I have come up against the enemy, differential flexure. This is some form of often miniscule movement between the two scopes that leads to elongated stars. Until now i have been using the Takahashi Clamshells. It's been suggested that these could be causing the small movements and so I've moved to scope rings.
Unable to easily find 95mm scope rings, I have bought and fitted Prima Luce rings and a Losmandy dovetail. An excellent and well made product I am hopeful that this will resolve my flexure issues. Read the equipment review here

Great stuff Sarah. I thought you did OAG though in your setup? Maybe at such a short FL OAG is not needed - is that your rationale?

Hi Steve, Using a dual set up you can't use an OAG...... imagine what will happen to one of the scopes when the one with the OAG is refocusing! You need to be guiding independently of any of the scopes in use so that guiding can continue unaffected regardless of where one of the scopes / camera's may be in their capture. Hope that makes sense :)
