This is a highlighted view of the Propeller in the Globular cluster M13. This is only Luminance at the moment, I am gathering colour data at the moment.

hi Sarah in doing a project after seeing your question on m13 why does it have a propellor could I please use your picture to look at so I can try explain my theory

I think it could be possibility of either a small rift or molecular dust

Hi Sara. While the area you have identified certainly looks like a propeller, it's not the one commonly talked about. The one most people are referring to is visible in your photo, but it is in the 1:00 position, almost directly across the core from your circle, and a little closer to the core than your indication. It is a little larger and a little fainter than what you have marked.
